First post, I know, but damn do I feel strongly about this one. Twitter just absolutely destroyed Google in delivering me the up-to-the-minute information I needed regarding upgrading to OS 3.0 on the iPhone. Here’s how the story goes:

As anyone with an iPhone currently trying to upgrade to OS 3.0 knows, it’s been giving this error “iphone activation server is unavailable” once downloaded and the time comes to install. I’ve been flipping out and spamming the update button just praying it will actually go through. No help on Google when searching for that error message, seeing how this is a problem that has occurred over the past 2 hours.

So, I decided to try and search Twitter for other people tweeting about the same problem when I came across the exact solution I was looking for. A blog post here directly described to be that you can cheat iTunes by promptly severing the internet connection right after hitting update. It worked perfectly, and am now seconds away from having my hands on the new iPhone OS 3.0!

What I’m trying to say is this: I’m a big Google lover, hell, I’m an SEO and practically pleasure the big G daily, but Twitter completely destroyed Google this time in delivering me the exact information I was looking for in an almost instantaneous manner.
